మా మున్నార్ యాత్రా విశేషాలు - సింహావలోకనము ( Retrospection ) .

మొదటి రోజు 16/9/2026 

బుధవారము నాడు డా. సుధీరు (డా. పల్లి ప్రభాకర దంపతులు ) మా దంపతులమిద్దరము ఆఱు గంటలకు శ్వేతాశ్వమును బోలిన వాహనము నెక్కి బయలుదేరి సుభద్రాపురమందు ఫలహారమారగించి , నూతనమ్ముగ నిర్మితంబైన అల్లూరి సీతారామరాజు విమానాశ్రయమునకు చేరి ,ఇండిగో విమానారూఢులమై హైదరాబాదు నగరమ్ము 10.10 గంటలకు చేరితిమి. అందుకొంతకాలము విశ్రమించి మరల వేరొక ఆకాశయానమునధిరోహించి. 2.20 గంటలకు కొచ్చిన్ విమానాశ్రయములో దిగితిమి. అందు శ్రీ అలుజు ప్రభాకర్ దంపతులతో కలిసి మహమ్మదను చోదకుడు ( డ్రైవరు ) నడిపిన వాహనములో కొచ్చిన్ నగరప్రవేశము చేసితిమి. మార్గమధ్యములో మేము తెచ్చుకున్న భోజనమునారగించి క్షుద్బాధను తీర్చుకొంటిమి. 

     అటుపిమ్మట ఆలివ్ డౌంటౌను విశ్రాంతి భవనమునుచేరితిమి . అందు 'చల్లటి' తేనీరు త్రాగి ,పకోడి తిని అరేబియా సంద్రపు అందాలను  చూడనేగితిమి . 

ఆ సముద్ర తీరాన కారము ఉప్పు కలిపిన మామిడి ముక్కలను పైనాపిల్ ముక్కలు రుచి చూచి , అచ్చట చైనీయ మత్స్య వలలు చూసి , మేరైన్ డ్రైవ్ ప్రాంతమును వీక్షించి , మా విశ్రాంతి భవనమునకు మరలి రాత్రి భోజనమారగించి సుఖనిద్రచేయగా మొదటి రోజు గడచిపోయె .

రెండవ రోజు & మూఁడవ రోజు  .........17/9/2026, 18/9/2026 

మరుదినమ్మున డ్రైవరు  చిరునవ్వు పలకరింపుతో మా వాహనమునెక్కి కొచ్చిన్ వీథులలో సాగుచూ మున్నార్ హిల్ స్టేషన్ కు బయలువెడలితిమి . రహదారులు విశాలములు గాక పోవుటచే ప్రయాణము  నత్త నడక వలెసాగి యెట్టకేలకు. చీయప్పర  జలపాతమున్న ప్రాంతమును చేరితిమి. ఉత్తుంగ కొండపైనుండి జలజల జారుతున్న ధవళవర్ణ ఫేనయుతమై ( నురుగు) 

జలపాతము ధ్వని జేస్తూ భువికి దిగు గంగా ఝరి వోలె కన్నులకు విందుగొల్పినది. 

               అక్కడ కొన్ని ఫోటోలు తీసుకొని , కారము జల్లిన పైనాపిల్ ముక్కలనాస్వాదించితిమి . మార్గమధ్యమున ఆయుర్వేద వనము లో ఔషధ మొక్కలను చూసి ఆ తరువాత 

 NHAI.  వారునిర్మిస్తున్న రహదార్లను దాటుకొనుచు సుమారు 4.00 గంటలకు ఆలీబాబా భోజనశాలలో భోజనము ముగించుకొని చిన్నగా వర్షము కురియుచుండ సిల్వర్ టిప్స్ విశ్రాంతి గృహములో విడిది చేసితిమి. ఆడవారు  వారి వారి పనులకై వెళ్లగా మున్నార్ టీ రుచిచూడ నెంచి ప్రభాకర ద్వయము సుధీర్ నేను ఆటోనెక్కి వెళ్లి ,మసాల వడ తిని టీ త్రాగితిమి. రాత్రి వేళ విందు బలే పసందుగా నుండె. 

          మరుదినమ్మున అనగా 18/9/2026 తేదీన 9.00 గంటలకు బయలుదేరి మున్నార్ అందాలను వీక్షించ వెళ్లితిమి. ముందుగా ఎరవికులం నేషనల్ పార్కు చూచుటకు, సంస్థవారు యేర్పరచిన వాహనములో ఎత్తైన కొండ నెక్కి తేయాకు తోటల అందాలను కనులారా కంటిమి. ఈ 

ఎరవికులం పార్కు అనమూడి పర్వత శ్రేణుల పైన సంద్రమట్టమునకు సుమారు 5000. అడుగులపైన నున్నది . ఇంకను పైకి వెళ్ళుటకు బేటరీ కారునెక్కి ఎరవికులము పార్కు వద్దకు వెళ్ళితిమి. కాని యిద్దరు అతిగా పోయి చతికిల పడిరి ( సరదాగా) . క్రిందికి దిగి ఎస్టేటు వారు యేర్పాటుచేసిన 10 నిమిషముల 3 D దృశ్య మాలికను చూడగా అద్బుతమనిపించినది. అక్కడనుండి కదలి రిప్పుల్ కంపెనీ వారీ టీ ఉత్పత్తి ,పేకింగు విధానములను ప్రత్యక్షముగా చూచితిమి. అప్పటికి సమయము సాయంత్రము నాలుగు గంటలు దాటగా విడిదికి చేరి కడుపు మంటను బాపుకొన పకోడి తిని, టీ త్రాగి కొంత కాలము విశ్రాంతి గైకొంటిమి. 

           రాత్రి 8.00 గంటలకు ఒక ప్రత్యేక కార్యక్రమము జరిగినది . అదేమిటంటే , ఆరోజు ఇందిరాభారతి పుట్టిన రోజు కావున కేకు కోసి జన్మదిన శుభాకాంక్షలు తెలిపి యామెకు ఒక ప్రత్యేక అనుభూతిని కలిగించితిమి. పిదప రాత్రి విందారగించి , సుఖముగా నిద్రించగా ,ఆరోజు ఆనందముగా గడిచినది. 

నాల్గవరోజు 19/9/2026

నాల్గవ రోజు ప్రత్యేకతేమిటంటే కొద్ది గంటలు మినహాయిస్తే తప్ప యించుమించు రోజంతా బస్సులోనే గడిచినది . ఆరోజు సూర్యుడు నిద్రలేవకముందే మేములేచి అయిదు గంటలకు గురవాయూరులోని శ్రీకృష్ణదేవుని దర్శనార్థము బయలుదేరితిమి. మార్గమధ్యములో అల్పాహరములు ముగించుకొని మరల పట్టువదలి విక్రమార్కుని వలె ప్రయాణము సాగినది. 

ఇక్కడ డ్రైవర్ మార్పు జరిగినది . మా పూర్వ చోదకుడు మహమ్మద్ తల్లికి అనారోగ్యరీత్య యతని స్థానములో అఖిల్ యను మరొక డ్రైవరు పరిచయమయ్యెను. 

సుమారు 11.00 గంటలకు గురవాయూరు చేరితిమి. ఆరోజు శనివారమైన కారణాన భక్తుల రద్దీ ఎక్కువనున్నది. టిక్కెట్లు యిచ్చు కౌంటరు దగ్గర ఆడవారు తోటి భక్తులతో కుస్తీ పట్టి విజయముసాధించి దేవాలయములో ప్రవేశించి శ్రీకృష్ణుని దర్శించి రెండుగంటలకు బయటపడి ,

నకనకలాడు తున్న కడుపులకు శాకాహారభోజనములతో శాంతపరిచితిమి .ఆచటినుండి మధ్యాహ్నము మూఁ డు గంటలకు బయలుదేరి ,అనేక మజిలీల తరువాత కేరళ రాజధాని తిరువనంతపురములో రాత్రి రెండు గంటలకు ప్రవేశించి మా వసతి గృహము ఆదిశక్తి రిసార్టునకు చేరితిమి. 

 ఐదవరోజు 20/9/2026 కథ ..

    ఉదయము 9.00 గంటలకు తిరువనంతపురములో బయలుదేరి , మధ్యాహ్నము భోజన సమయానికి చేరి భోజనము ముగించి , సముద్రము మధ్య గల ' వివేకానంద రాక్ మెమోరియల్ '

మరియు వీరవల్లుని భారీ విగ్రహమును దర్శించించుటకు పడవమీఁద వెళ్ళి వచ్చితిమి. సముద్రము మధ్యలో అంత ఎత్తైన రాతి నిర్మాణము ఆశ్చర్యపరిచినది . అదియునుగాక  రాక్ మెమోరియల్ ' నకు వీరవల్లుని విగ్రహమునకు మధ్య ఒక అద్దాల వంతెన ప్రత్యేక ఆకర్షణగా నిలిచినది. 

సూర్యాస్తమయమును చూద్దామన్న మాకోరిక మీఁద మేఘుడు పరదా కప్ప , వరుణుడు నీళ్లు చల్ల గా కోరిక తీరదాయె . చేయునది లేక కన్యాకుమారి వీథులలో గణపతి నిమజ్జనమునకు జరుగు ఊరేగింపులను చూచి సమీపములోనున్న కన్యకా పరమేశ్వరి ఆలయములో అమ్మవారిని దర్శించితిమి . 

అటుపిమ్మట మా రాత్రి వాసమైన అమారి హోటల్ చేరి భోజనములుముగించితిమి. మరునాడుదయము సుధీర్ , ప్రభాకర్ లు స్విమ్మింగు పూలులో జలకేళిలాడిరి. 

ఆఱవ రోజు. 21/9/2026

             పది గంటలకు తిరువనంతపురమునకు బయలుదేరి త్రోవలో నాగ కోయిల్ దేవాలయమును దర్శించితిమి . మధ్యాహ్న భోజనానంతరము  అజ్మాల్ బీచ్ , కేవ్ శివాలయమును చూచితిమి ( స్త్రీలు) . అక్కడనుండి వెళ్లి Poovar isaland back water boat ride చేసితిమి . ఆ ఉప్పు నీటి కాలువలపై పడవ ప్రయాణము మరువరాని యొక మధురస్మృతిగా మా యెదలో నిలిచినది. పిమ్మట శ్రీఅనంతపద్మనాభుని దర్శనార్థమునకు వెళ్లితిమి. రూ .500/ టిక్కెట్లకు సమయము మించుట వలన లభ్యముకాలేదు. మా అదృష్టము కొలది రూ 50/ ల టిక్కెట్లు దొరుకగా  ఆస్వామి వారి దర్శనము చేసుకొంటిమి. ఆ రాత్రి ఆదిశక్తి రిసార్ట్ లో విశ్రాంతి తీసుకొంటిమి. 

ఇక చివరి రోజు 22/9/2026

చివరి రోజు ఉదయము అల్పాహారము ముగించి బయలుదేరు సమయమునకు ఆ హోటలులో ఏదో సీరియల్  షూటింగు జరుగుచుండె . కొంత సమయము తరువాత కోవలం బీచ్ చూసి , ఆడవారి బాధ లేక వారిక్ సమయము కొంత కేటాయించడమైనది. వారు మసాలా సామగ్రి , పిల్లలకు ఆటవస్తువులు కొనడమైనది. 11.30 గంటలకు మా తిరుగు ప్రయాణమునకు సిద్ధమై తిరువనంతపురము విమానాశ్రయము నకు చేరి , 

మధ్యాహ్నము సుమారు 2.00 గంటలకు విమానారూఢులమై సాయంత్రము 6.00 గంటలకు చెన్నై మీదుగా భోగాపురము ఆల్లూరి సీతారామరాజు విమానాశ్రమములో దిగి రోడ్దు మార్గములో 

మేము, సుధీర్ గారు ,అలుజు ప్రభాకర్ గారు దంపతులు శ్రీకాకుళము మరియు పల్లి ప్రభాకర్ దంపతులు విశాఖపట్టణము 8.00 గంటలకు సురక్షితముగా  అనంతపద్మనాభుని కృపవలన మా స్వగృహములు చేరితిమి.

గమనిక :- 

కొన్ని రోజులుగా చర్చనీయాంశమై చివరకు 22/9/2026 నకు మున్నార్ యాత్ర  సాకారమై ఫలప్రదమైనది. ఈ యాత్రలో ముఖ్యపాత్ర పోషించిన డా. సుధీర్( సంకల్ప కర్త)  , ప్రభాకర ద్వయమునకు (ప్రయాణ అనుసంధాన కర్తలకు ) అభినందనలు . ఆటలో అరటి పండ్లు ఆడవారికి ( in the  lightervain) ప్రత్యేక అభినందనలు .

       

Memories of Our Munnar Trip – A Retrospection

Day One – 16 September 2026

On Wednesday, Dr. Sudheer, Dr. Palli Prabhakar and their respective spouses, and my wife and I set out at 6:00 a.m. in a vehicle that seemed as swift and graceful as a white horse. After having breakfast at Subhadrapuram, we proceeded to the newly constructed Alluri Sitarama Raju Airport.

We boarded an IndiGo flight and reached Hyderabad at 10:10 a.m. After resting there for some time, we boarded another flight and landed at Cochin Airport at 2:20 p.m.

There, along with Mr. and Mrs. Aluju Prabhakar, we entered the city of Kochi in a vehicle driven by Mohammed. On the way, we ate the food we had brought with us and satisfied our hunger.

We then reached Olive Downtown, our place of stay. After enjoying some “chilled” tea and pakodas, we set out to admire the beauty of the Arabian Sea.

At the seashore, we tasted pieces of mango sprinkled with chilli and salt, as well as pineapple slices. We also saw the famous Chinese fishing nets and visited the Marine Drive area. Returning to our accommodation, we had dinner and enjoyed a sound sleep. Thus, our first day came to an end.

Days Two & Three – 17 & 18 September 2026

The next morning, our driver greeted us with a cheerful smile. We boarded our vehicle and, travelling through the streets of Kochi, set off towards the hill station of Munnar.

As the roads were not very wide, our journey proceeded at a snail’s pace. Eventually, we reached the area of the Cheeyappara Waterfalls.

From the lofty hills above, the waterfall came cascading down in a magnificent stream of foaming white water. Its thunderous sound and beauty reminded us of the sacred Ganga descending from the heavens, providing a feast for our eyes.

We took several photographs there and enjoyed some pineapple pieces sprinkled with chilli. On the way, we visited an Ayurvedic garden and observed various medicinal plants. We then crossed several stretches of road being constructed by the NHAI.

At around 4:00 p.m., we finished our meal at the Alibaba Restaurant. As it began to drizzle, we proceeded to Silver Tips, our place of stay, and settled in.

While the ladies went about their respective activities, Prabhakar, Sudheer and I decided to go out and taste the famous Munnar tea. We travelled by auto-rickshaw, had masala vadas and enjoyed a cup of tea.

The dinner that night was particularly delicious.

18 September 2026

The following morning, 18 September, we set out at 9:00 a.m. to enjoy the beauty of Munnar.

Our first destination was Eravikulam National Park. We climbed the hills in a vehicle arranged by the authorities and feasted our eyes on the breathtaking beauty of the tea plantations.

Eravikulam National Park is situated in the Anamudi mountain range, at an elevation of approximately 5,000 feet above sea level. To proceed further, we boarded a battery-operated vehicle and reached the park.

However, two among us apparently overdid it and were left completely exhausted—of course, only in a spirit of fun!

After coming back down, we watched a fascinating 10-minute 3D visual presentation arranged by the estate authorities. It was truly wonderful.

From there, we proceeded to the Ripple Tea Company, where we had the opportunity to see firsthand how tea is produced and packed.

By then, it was past 4:00 p.m. We returned to our accommodation, satisfied our hunger with pakodas and tea, and rested for some time.

At 8:00 p.m., a special event took place. It happened to be Indira Bharathi’s birthday, so we cut a cake and conveyed our birthday wishes to her, giving her a memorable and special experience.

We then enjoyed dinner and went to bed happily. Thus, another delightful day came to an end.

Day Four – 19 September 2026

The special feature of the fourth day was that, except for a few hours, we spent almost the entire day travelling by bus.

We woke up even before the sun had risen and departed at 5:00 a.m. to seek the darshan of Lord Sri Krishna at Guruvayur.

After having breakfast on the way, our journey continued relentlessly, much like Vikramaditya refusing to give up!

There was also a change of driver that day. Our previous driver, Mohammed, had to leave because of his mother’s ill health, and another driver named Akhil took over.

We reached Guruvayur at around 11:00 a.m. Since it was Saturday, the temple was crowded with devotees.

Near the ticket counter, the ladies bravely wrestled their way through the crowd of fellow devotees and emerged victorious! They entered the temple, had the darshan of Lord Sri Krishna, and came out at around 2:00 p.m.

We then pacified our growling stomachs with a satisfying vegetarian meal.

We departed from there at around 3:00 p.m. and, after travelling through numerous stages of the journey, finally entered Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala, at around 2:00 a.m.

We reached our accommodation, Adishakti Resort, and retired for the night.

Day Five – 20 September 2026

We left Thiruvananthapuram at 9:00 a.m. and reached our destination around lunchtime. After finishing our meal, we went by boat to visit the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the enormous Thiruvalluvar statue, situated amidst the sea.

The sight of such a massive rock structure rising in the middle of the sea was truly astonishing.

Another special attraction was the glass bridge connecting the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the Thiruvalluvar statue.

We had hoped to witness the sunset, but unfortunately, the clouds drew a curtain across the sky and Lord Varuna decided to sprinkle us with rain! Thus, our wish to see the sunset remained unfulfilled. Having nothing else to do, we watched the processions held through the streets of Kanyakumari for the immersion of Lord Ganesha idols. Afterwards, we visited the nearby Kanyaka Parameswari Temple and had the darshan of the Goddess.

With no other option, we returned to Amari Hotel, our accommodation for the night, and had dinner.

The following morning, Sudheer and Prabhakar enjoyed themselves in the swimming pool, indulging in some playful water fun.

Day Six – 21 September 2026

At 10:00 a.m., we set out towards Thiruvananthapuram and, on the way, visited the Nagercoil Temple.

After lunch, the ladies visited Ajmal Beach and a cave Shiva temple.

From there, we proceeded to Poovar Island and enjoyed a backwater boat ride.

The boat journey through those salt-water canals became one of the most unforgettable and sweet memories of our entire trip.

Later, we went to seek the darshan of Sri Anantha Padmanabha Swamy.

Unfortunately, the ₹500 tickets were no longer available because the allotted time had passed. As luck would have it, however, we managed to obtain ₹50 tickets and were blessed with the darshan of the Lord.

That night, we rested at Adishakti Resort.

The Final Day – 22 September 2026

On the final morning, after breakfast, as we were preparing to leave, some kind of serial television shooting was taking place at the hotel.

After spending some time there, we visited Kovalam Beach. We also set aside some time for the ladies, so that they could shop without any hurry or inconvenience.

They purchased various spices and toys for the children.

At 11:30 a.m., we prepared for our return journey and proceeded to Thiruvananthapuram Airport.

At around 2:00 p.m., we boarded our flight and, travelling via Chennai, landed at Alluri Sitarama Raju Airport, Bhogapuram, at around 6:00 p.m.

From there, we continued our journey by road. Dr. Sudheer, Mr. and Mrs. Aluju Prabhakar of Srikakulam, and Dr. and Mrs. Palli Prabhakar of Visakhapatnam, along with us, reached our respective homes safely at around 8:00 p.m., by the grace of Lord Anantha Padmanabha.

Thus ended our memorable journey.

Note

After being a subject of discussion for several days, our Munnar trip finally materialised on 22 September 2026 and proved to be a fruitful and memorable journey.

Special congratulations to Dr. Sudheer, the initiator and mastermind behind the trip, and to the two Prabhakars, who played the crucial role of coordinating the travel arrangements.

And, in a lighter vein, special appreciation and congratulations to the ladies, who added their own special flavour to the journey—just as bananas add sweetness to a game of cricket!
